Our company contributes to society through business related to the design, manufacture, and sale of semiconductor- and LCD-related manufacturing equipment, industrial equipment, electronic equipment, and the like. We accurately grasp what customers require (customer requirements) and what society requires (legal regulations and other requirements), and respond to them through management and the honing of technology and skills. Our company's main business is the design and manufacture of semiconductor- and LCD-related manufacturing equipment, strain-gauge-type measuring instruments, and strain-gauge data recording devices. At our customers' sites, through our various manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facilities, a wide variety of environmentally conscious products are produced and put to use in society. As the producer of this manufacturing equipment, reducing the environmental load in our own manufacturing processes goes without saying; we will also undertake further efforts to help reduce the environmental load at our customers' sites and, moreover, to help our customers make highly functional products with low environmental impact. We identify and evaluate the environmental impacts of all of our activities, products, and services, and from these determine the "significant environmental aspects" that have a significant impact on the environment. We then classify these into those addressed for "continual improvement" that leads to further environmental improvement, those for which we strive at "pollution prevention," and those to be "complied with as legal and other requirements," and by appropriately allocating management resources, we commit to giving them due consideration within our environmental management system. For those subject to "continual improvement," we set objectives and targets, formulate and promote an "environmental improvement plan" that clarifies the measures for achieving the targets, and by evaluating and reviewing the results and connecting them to the next improvement objectives and targets, we continually improve.
