Ensinger Asia Holding PTE. LTD. Taiwan Branch provides food-grade plastics designed to meet stringent FDA and European food-contact requirements and also addresses Chinese food standards for the China market. Qualified materials have product-specific food-contact certificates covering FDA raw-material approval and EC and GMP food-contact requirements; applicable regulations include (EC) 1935/2004, (EU) 10/2011 and (EC) 2023/2006 together with traceability requirements. For the Chinese food market, applicable standards include GB 9595.1-2016 and GB 4806.6-2016, with GB 4806.6-2016 identified as a resin positive list. The food-contact qualified plastics are positioned to meet stringent requirements for production safety, traceability and product certification. Food-contact plastics can replace metal in many factory applications because of their light weight and ease of processing and are used in meat, fish, poultry, dairy, bakery and confectionery production, where the materials are intended to improve process speed and safety. The detection-oriented portfolio includes blue materials for optical inspection, blue metal-detectable products, and metal- and X-ray-detectable materials for direct food contact; blue grades are offered as standard products to improve process safety and reduce cost. Applications include scrapers, valves and pistons, chain guides, bushings, rollers, thrust washers, gears, fixtures and plain bearings in food processing and packaging. Replacing metal components or sliding parts with plastics can eliminate external lubricants and reduce the risk of food contamination from oil or grease. Food-grade plastics are resistant to cleaning agents used for regular cleaning, sterilization and disinfection, supporting component reuse without additional corrosion protection, while blue materials improve visibility of spores, mold, food residue and cleaning-agent residue. Because aggressive chemicals are often used to clean food-processing equipment, the company provides a chemical-resistance overview for selecting food-contact plastics for expected conditions. Blue food-contact materials and metal- or X-ray-detectable plastics are intended to improve food-production safety while meeting international rules that control substances migrating from materials into food and help prevent harmful effects. Blue plastics provide high visibility for rapid in-line recognition; ID food-grade plastics include metal-detectable additives that meet food-contact requirements, and UD materials use special additives for both metal and X-ray detectability to help prevent plastic contamination in food. ID and UD materials can be used with metal detectors on food-processing lines, and Ultra Detectable UD products are designed for the three commonly used in-line particle-detection systems: optical, metal and X-ray detection. The food portfolio includes TECAFORM AH natural, a non-porous unfilled POM-C acetal; TECAFORM AH blue, a bright-blue POM-C acetal copolymer for optical detection; TECAPEEK natural, a high-performance high-temperature semi-crystalline PEEK; and TECAPEEK ID blue, a metal-detectable PEEK made from Victrex® PEEK. Food-contact compliant plastics are used in fully automated systems that inject brine into meat to increase flavor and shelf life, and TECAFORM AH natural is used for scraper applications in filling machines while TECAFORM AH ID blue can improve production safety and reduce wear. Form& Frys selected TECAFORM AH (POM-C) blue for standard and customized machines because of dimensional stability, low water absorption, fatigue strength and food-regulation compliance, with its blue color allowing broken plastic fragments to be detected by optical scanners or line operators. Semi-finished products are manufactured according to German DIN standards with positive tolerances so surface discoloration or marks can be machined away during final processing. For semiconductor applications, the company's plastics are designed for demanding environments across wafer processing, chip processing, handling and packaging, and semiconductor specialists work directly with engineers on process challenges. The semiconductor solutions address extreme temperatures, highly corrosive chemicals, abrasive solvents and plasma environments under vacuum while meeting tight design and machining tolerances as well as outgassing and contamination requirements; the company states that these plastic solutions can cost less than traditional ceramic or quartz materials and are often easier to use. Semiconductor capabilities include a broad product range, engineering support and testing, plus manufacturing flexibility from compression molding for short-run parts or proof-of-concept testing, through extrusion for medium-run machined parts, to injection molding for high-volume components. Global manufacturing services are available in North America, South America, Europe and Asia, with compliance expertise for customer, industry and government requirements and strategic supplier alliances with major global resin suppliers. Semiconductor offerings include special materials for chemical-mechanical polishing across equipment from different manufacturers, low-outgassing plastics for industries with strict outgassing and ionic-purity requirements, and high-temperature plastics that continue to be developed as chip designs become more complex for long-term exposure to high temperatures in advanced semiconductor applications. Unreinforced plastics are generally electrically insulating, while ESD plastics include modified PEEK and Acetal grades with conductive, antistatic or static-dissipative properties for semiconductor applications such as back-end test sockets. Compared with metals, chemical compatibility, chemical resistance and corrosion resistance are major advantages of plastics for semiconductor processes that use many materials throughout chip manufacturing. Machinable semiconductor materials listed include TECASINT 4011 natural, TECAPEEK CMP natural, TECAPEEK ELS nano black, TECATRON natural, TECAPEI GF30, TECAPEEK natural, TECASINT 5051 green-grey, TECASINT 4111 black and TECAPEI natural. Semiconductor test sockets support testing large numbers of microchips under different conditions to ensure specified functionality and durability and require different sockets according to integrated-circuit design needs, increasing demand for high-performance and engineering plastics. TECASINT 4011 natural is an unfilled polyimide with very low water absorption, high oxidation stability and high chemical resistance, and it is used for test sockets. Chemical-mechanical polishing is an important silicon-wafer production step whose main purpose includes supporting larger wafer sizes and smaller chips with narrower line widths and feature sizes, and CMP components require qualified materials with suitable properties. TECAPEEK CMP is specially modified for the semiconductor industry and specifically for parts in CMP equipment, while TECATRON CMP material is used for CMP retaining rings; Ensinger Asia Holding PTE. LTD. Taiwan Branch develops materials for CMP requirements in close cooperation with customers.
