Company profile

Southern Taiwan Science Park Bureau, National Science and Technology Council recruits industries including IC, optoelectronics, precision machinery, communications, computer peripherals and biotechnology into the Southern Taiwan Science Park. The optoelectronics, IC and biotechnology sectors are presented as major contributors to an integrated high-tech industrial cluster within the park. TSMC has established five-nanometer and three-nanometer advanced manufacturing processes in the park, while TSMC and UMC continue expanding capacity and attracting related manufacturers to strengthen the IC cluster. The park describes itself as the world's largest-scale IC industrial cluster, with an IC chain that includes upstream CMP-slurry, quartz-tube, deposition-material and polishing-pad manufacturers, middle-stream silicon-wafer and memory-technology suppliers, and downstream package-test, product-test and equipment suppliers. In optoelectronics, Innolux and HannStar lead panel-display development, with products including television screens in multiple sizes and niche applications for vehicles and healthcare. The park's 5G industrial cluster includes materials and key-component supply chains and tenant companies Win Semiconductors, Walshin Technology, Winstron Neweb, Garuda Technology, Advanced Wireless Semiconductor, Apogee Optocom and Thinflex. For future 5G development, the park aims to bring in more software and information-security companies and use interdisciplinary software-and-hardware development to accelerate innovation and transformation. The Bureau's Planning Division contains Planning, Evaluation and Financial Planning sections, while the Investment Services Division contains Investment Affairs, Industry-Academic Research and Development, and Investment Promotion sections. Its Environment & Labor Affairs Division covers industrial safety, labor relations and environmental protection, and its Business Division covers industrial and commercial services and foreign trade. The Construction Management Division includes civil engineering, water, electrical and traffic, and facility maintenance functions, while the Land Development Division includes land planning and construction management, land acquisition and rental services, and architectural functions. The Secretariat includes documentation, procurement and general-affairs functions, and the Bureau also lists a Personnel Office, Civil Service Ethics Office and Accounting Office. Through these divisions, the Bureau combines investment services, industrial administration, environmental and labor affairs, construction and infrastructure management, land development, procurement and administrative functions for the science park.

Exhibitor profile

Exhibits

Applicants seeking presence in the Southern Taiwan Science Park must be park enterprises that manufacture products not currently made in Taiwan, outperform competing products, or provide critical key components and parts for domestic industry. The application package requires application forms, concrete operational proposals, pollution-control and management proposals, and water-and-electricity proposals. For semiconductor and high-tech manufacturers, the park environment is linked to an IC cluster that includes advanced TSMC processes, materials and component suppliers, silicon-wafer and memory-technology suppliers, package and product testing, and equipment suppliers. The Bureau's investment and operating framework is supported by dedicated investment-service, environmental, labor, construction, infrastructure and land-management functions inside the park administration.
