Company profile
YASKAWA ELECTRIC TAIWAN CORPORATION was established in July 2001 and handles domestic sales and technical service in Taiwan for motion-control products including servo motors, servo controls and drives, inverters, robots and parts, and other mechatronics products. Yaskawa Electric describes itself as one of the world’s leading manufacturers in motion-control technology, industrial automation and robotics. The company says it uses innovation to optimize the productivity and efficiency of machines and industrial systems. Its products and solutions serve machine and tool manufacturing, automotive, packaging, woodworking, elevators, air-conditioning systems, textiles and semiconductors. Its new semiconductor robotic arm provides high accuracy and ultra-low-vibration optimization.
Exhibits
The Σ-X Series Servo Motor uses digital-data solutions with high-precision data collection and analysis to support production. The FT70 SERVOPACK includes functions optimized for gantry driving and torque or force assistance to address gantry-mechanism requirements. The FT40 SERVOPACK realizes high-speed and high-precision pressure control by feeding pressure-sensor feedback signals into pressure references that serve as controller torque-control commands. SEMI ROBOT Auto Teaching automatically generates teaching points by detecting a fixture center pin with a sensor fixture. SEMI ROBOT YCP collects operational data from Yaskawa products on a production line through a PC to monitor the motion information of each axis and evaluate the operating status of online equipment. In 1969, Yaskawa engineers coined the term mechatronics by combining mechanics and electronics, and i³-Mechatronics later added the three i concepts integrated, intelligent and innovative to combine mechatronics products with digital-data use and extend automation with digital-data management for production-floor and management issues. The i³-Mechatronics approach supports real-time data analysis and feedback near the production site and software that can collect, store and analyze production-equipment or device data in real time. For production, it automates the production floor, integrates and analyzes machine and digital data, visualizes production issues and supports continuous improvement for needs such as variable-mix and variable-volume production, lower parts and work-in-process inventory, shorter production-preparation time and on-site visualization; YASKAWA Cockpit can collect and accumulate automation data in real time, link it with upper-level systems as needed, use it for AI learning or Big data analysis, and feed learning or analysis results back to the system. For quality, equipment and machine data are used for precise and fast abnormality detection, next-generation traceability by linking component, production and inspection data, and correlation analysis between equipment-operation data and product data to identify defect causes, addressing issues such as unstable quality, operator-dependent inspection, missing detailed shipment-inspection data and the need to identify defect causes earlier. The MP-series motion controller records control data with timestamps in μs units, while the Σ-7 AC servo drive can monitor vibration, external disturbance, positioning, communication quality and temperature data to detect aging, environmental changes and signs related to failure. An arc-welding quality-inspection application under development collects and analyzes operating data such as welding-current and welding-voltage waveforms to detect process abnormalities or welding defects, identify abnormal weld locations, prevent defective products from moving downstream, notify repair stations and shorten repair work while improving quality. For maintenance, machine data support equipment-failure prediction, planned maintenance and zero-downtime goals for issues such as lost orders from equipment failures, emergency maintenance, production catch-up after stoppages and excessive maintenance-parts inventory; real-time abnormal-state analysis can detect abnormalities before performance declines or failures occur, robot-operation data can predict reducer wear and failure timing, and inverter torque or current pulsations can indicate conveyor-belt or pulley-bearing deterioration. The motion-control lineup includes a complete range of servo motors and servo drives from 3W to 55kW, motion controllers described as using the fastest CPU for high-speed and high-precision control, and MECHATROLINK-III connectivity for easy construction of high-speed multi-axis systems. Product management and maintenance are supported by a dedicated repair factory, project personnel assist with fault investigation and troubleshooting, the SigmaTouch smartphone app supports lifecycle maintenance, and servo-drive products provide ultra-high-speed and ultra-high-precision control to improve machine performance. The inverter lineup includes general-purpose inverters for varied loads and applications, dedicated inverters for markets such as cranes and elevators with optimized load characteristics for simpler parameter setting, speed control and energy-saving performance, regenerative energy-saving units designed to reduce energy loss while providing regeneration, and permanent-magnet synchronous motors. Its robot lineup includes industrial robots described as providing the world’s fastest speed and maximum operating range to increase productivity and support a shift from robots that replace human work toward robots that work with people, and cleanroom robots with a broad lineup, high precision, high reliability and up to ISO CLASS 1 cleanroom capability. The company describes its robot business as a global market-share-leading robot brand; applications span industrial manufacturing, semiconductor technology, building construction, print design, logistics transportation and food preparation, with project personnel for troubleshooting and a multifunction technical-service center.
