Company profile

Standex Electronics, through Standex Detect, develops precision-engineered reed switches, sensors, relays, and emerging technologies for applications in automation, transportation, energy, and test and measurement. Its engineering model is based on working with customers from concept through production, with technical teams collaborating alongside OEMs and design groups to turn application requirements into manufacturable switching and sensing solutions. The company tailors technologies to specific performance, environmental, and market requirements so that development work can address reliability, integration, and product differentiation at the system-design stage. Standex Detect builds on the legacy brands MEDER electronic, Sensor Solutions, American Relays, and Sanyu, bringing together decades of work in reed, relay, and sensing technologies. Its development direction includes new materials, processes, and design approaches for switching and sensing, while its core technical base includes reed, solid-state, and hybrid technologies. The company is also developing next-generation relay designs and sensor architectures intended for higher performance, greater integration, and enhanced reliability as automation, energy, transportation, and test systems become more connected. Standex Electronics offers custom engineered solutions as well as a broader portfolio of high-reliability reed switches, relays, and sensors, allowing customer projects to use either application-specific engineering or established product components. Its global organization is structured around engineers, technical specialists, and customer collaboration, with regional offices and local support forming part of the company's worldwide service approach.

Exhibits

For automated test equipment, the SHV-2A Series is a high-voltage dual-contact Form 2A, single-in-line reed relay designed in a compact footprint for high-density, multi-channel matrices. The MH Series is a high-density reed relay for precision switching in compact PCB layouts, while the LI Series is a high-voltage, high-insulation reed relay for precision switching where elevated isolation and ultra-low leakage are required. Standex Electronics also addresses reliable multi-GHz and high-speed digital signal switching in semiconductor test systems, including advanced System-on-Chip testers and other ATE architectures. Modern SoC testers combine DC parametric measurements, high-speed digital interfaces, and multi-GHz RF signals within increasingly compact and high-density test architectures, making switching behavior relevant to measurement accuracy, test coverage, and throughput. The company's semiconductor-test application work explains the role of RF-capable reed relays in providing reliable and repeatable switching as signal speed increases and acceptable tolerances become tighter. Its engineering considerations for these systems include signal routing for multi-GHz RF and high-speed digital paths and the effects of parasitics on insertion loss, reflections, and crosstalk. Standex Electronics also evaluates common SoC tester switching functions that use RF reed relays and compares RF reed relays with alternative switching technologies when selecting a switching architecture. Together, the SHV-2A, MH, and LI relay families cover high-voltage ATE matrices, dense PCB precision switching, and high-isolation low-leakage requirements, while the multi-GHz application work extends the offering into RF and high-speed digital semiconductor-test signal paths.
