Singapore Precision Engineering and Technology Association (SPETA) is the leading trade association for the Precision Engineering Industry and serves the sector as an industry association for precision-engineering businesses. Its stated vision is to strive to be the PROFESSIONAL, PREFERRED and PRESTIGIOUS trade association serving the Precision Engineering industry. SPETA's membership brings together both SMEs and MNCs active in the manufacturing and distribution of precision-engineering goods and solutions. Member companies participate in diverse sectors including aerospace, automotive, medical and semiconductor, giving the association a community that spans several end markets for precision engineering. SPETA works with its members, industry leaders, knowledge partners and government agencies to co-create a conducive and dynamic business environment for the Precision Engineering and Technology community. The association identifies digitalisation, innovation, sustainability and a vibrant workforce as enablers of that business environment and of the wider Precision Engineering and Technology community. SPETA traces its history to 1982, when it was founded as the Singapore Tool and Die Association. In 1988, the association changed its name to Singapore Engineering and Tooling Association, reflecting a subsequent stage in its organizational history. In 2014, it adopted the name Singapore Precision Engineering and Technology Association (SPETA), the official name used today. In 2015, the association changed its logo as part of a refinement of its Vision, Mission and core values.
