Company profile
Oxford-based clean energy company, Lux Industries (LUX), is pioneering Hydrogen-as-a-Service (HaaS). Using its modular, containerised hydrogen liquefaction technology, LUX delivers ultra-high purity, low-cost, on-site, on-demand green hydrogen to the semiconductor manufacturing industry. LUX’s patent-pending proprietary heat exchangers are 100× smaller in volume than conventional systems. This compact design enables a fully integrated containerised system capable of producing, liquefying, storing, and supplying green liquid hydrogen directly at the point of use, eliminating the need for transport and dramatically reducing costs and emissions. At TRL 6, LUX has successfully demonstrated a working cryogenic heat-exchanger prototype capable of producing 100 kg of liquid hydrogen per day, with the capacity to scale to 1000 kg/ day for large-scale semiconductor facilities. The company has secured £975,000 in combined private investment and government funding and recently completed a £1M Innovate UK collaborative project with ZeroAvia, the University of Southampton, and Wessington Cryogenics. It has also launched a £1.5M collaborative project with SunGreenH2 and Brunel University, co-funded by Innovate UK and Enterprise Singapore. Collaboration Opportunities • Industry collaborations with semiconductor manufacturers to facilitate feasibility studies, demonstrations, and trial infrastructure integrations of LUX’s on-site hydrogen supply • Industry collaborations with partners seeking to transition and adopt clean energy solutions • Partners for joint international grant-funded projects for technology development, demonstrations, and trials
