Company profile

ISC Co., Ltd. develops and produces Test Sockets used to test semiconductor IC Chips found in semiconductor, IT, BT, automotive and other electronic-component applications. The company develops products optimized for different semiconductor package types so that socket designs can be matched to the package being tested. ISC emphasizes rapid product development for customers that require high-mix, low-volume production rather than only a small number of standardized socket types. Its stated approach is to provide solutions for customers needing many product varieties in small production quantities. ISC also describes a broad portfolio that supports many semiconductor ICs and IT devices. The company states that it provides high-quality solutions quickly and reliably to build customer satisfaction and trust. Its listed business areas include Test Socket, Burn in Socket, Pogo Socket, Thermal Control Unit and Tester offerings. The business list also includes EFEM, Chemical and PCB categories, extending the portfolio beyond socket products alone. ISC identifies a headquarters and technology research institute as part of its organization and also lists facilities and branches.

ISC's Test Socket is a consumable component used during electrical-performance inspection in semiconductor back-end processing. During that inspection, the Test Socket electrically connects the test equipment and the semiconductor Package so the finished semiconductor can be classified as good or defective. This makes the Test Socket an interface used at the final electrical inspection stage rather than a permanent component of the finished semiconductor device. ISC states that it was the first company in the world to commercialize the Silicone Rubber Socket. The Silicone Rubber Socket is also called an Elastomer Socket and uses soft Silicone as its contact material. The soft Silicone construction is intended to avoid damage to the semiconductor Package during contact. The socket is described as very thin, which provides strong high-speed signal-transmission capability. ISC also states that current loss is almost absent in the Silicone Rubber Socket design. Alongside the Silicone Rubber Socket, ISC develops and produces the conventional Pogo Pin Socket type. The company's socket portfolio is designed around different semiconductor package types, allowing products to be optimized to the package and customer requirement. ISC supports a wide range of semiconductor IC and IT devices and combines this portfolio breadth with rapid, stable delivery of its solutions. For customers requiring high-mix, low-volume products, the company develops multiple optimized socket types in a short time and supplies them as testing solutions.
