The sanitary-valve range is designed for applications where hygiene and cleanliness are critical, with structures intended for easy cleaning and sanitizing and with quick-disconnect fittings and other cleaning-oriented features. These sanitary valves are used in food and beverage, dairy, and distillery industries and in other applications that require strict sanitary and hygienic standards. The sanitary-valve family includes Sanitary Butterfly Valve, Sanitary Ball Valve, Sanitary Sampling Valve, Sanitary Check Valve, Spring Check Valves, Air-Blow Check Valves, Sanitary Air Relief/Tank Vent Valve, and Sanitary Y-Ball Check Valve products. CME sanitary valves use 316L material with a standard finish of 32Ra maximum on media-contact surfaces, are inspected with a Niton analyzer from raw material through finished parts, use rubber and plastic seals described as FDA compliant, and are each 100% water-pressure tested before shipping. Because working environments have different requirements, CME provides multiple seal materials for sanitary valves while retaining a hygienic design. Sanitary butterfly valves can be operated manually by handles or automatically through actuators, are available from ½” to 8”, use forged 316L discs and bodies, and offer Silicone, EPDM, and FKM seal options from AVK GUMMI A/S. The sanitary butterfly-valve line offers various manual or automatic operators, uses rubber materials described as FDA compliant and tested over 10,000 cycles in 5% alcohol under 2oC, receives 100% testing and inspection, and has sanitary-finished wetted surfaces. Sanitary ball valves, also described as hygienic ball valves for food and beverage use, range from 1/2" to 4" and use a full-port design intended to reduce pressure drop and turbulence. The sanitary ball valve has an ISO5211 mounting pad for actuator assembly, pressure ratings of 1/2" - 2" 1000PSO WOG and 2 1/2" - 4" 800PSI WOG, sanitary-finished wetted surfaces, five seat-material choices, and 100% testing and inspection of each valve. The 3-piece industrial ball valve is manufactured from CF8M with FNPT and socket-weld ends, is available from 1/2" to 4", uses a full-port design and ISO 5211 high mounting pad, and is 100% tested and inspected. Industrial ball-valve pressure ratings are 1/2" - 2" 1000PSI WOG, 2 1/2" - 3" 800PSI WOG, and 4" 600 PSI WOG. Sanitary sampling valves are used in wineries and are offered with different connections in sizes from 3/8" to 2", using 304 and 316L stainless steel, double silicone O-rings, and a Silicone or PTFE seat for leak-proof shut-off. The sampling-valve wetted surfaces have a sanitary finish, with a 200 PSI pressure rating and a 300°F temperature rating. Air Relief Valves are used to bleed air on the suction side of pumps, while Tank Vent Valves are used to relieve pressure as the fluid level rises. The Sanitary Y-Ball Check Valve is intended for full flow and low pressure drop during processing; when flow stops, its PTFE ball rolls back and seats to prevent backflow. The two-piece Sanitary Y-Ball Check Valve is available from 1 1/2" to 3", uses sanitary-finished 316L stainless steel wetted surfaces and a PTFE ball for heat and abrasion resistance, and can be cleaned without tools. Repair kits are available for seat replacement, an air-blow check valve can be added, maximum operating pressure is 150 PSI, and the operating temperature range is -15°F to 200°F. Alongside sanitary products, the broader stainless steel range includes vacuum fittings, flanges, and valves for semiconductor and vacuum-industry applications.
