Company profile

Adirtek Co., Ltd. is a SECS / GEM team focused on semiconductor-industry connectivity and automation solutions for machine makers and system integrators. The company is a spin-off from ITRI, the Industrial Technology Research Institute, and states that its SECS/GEM core technology was officially transferred and authorized from ITRI. Adirtek Co., Ltd. builds its solutions by combining that transferred SECS/GEM core with current hardware and software technologies. Its development scope includes a SECS/GEM gateway, a SECS/GEM software suite and a SECS/GEM communication driver rather than a single connectivity product. SECI Box is the company's SECS/GEM gateway and is designed to let sensors, devices and equipment in semiconductor fabs connect their analog signals, digital signals and serial messages without requiring separate expansion modules. SECI Box converts connected signals into SECS/GEM messages without coding and is described as enabling devices that do not originally speak SECS/GEM to communicate with an EAP in 5 minutes. AnyGate is the company's SECS/GEM suite and can be installed on different PCs to give those computers SECS/GEM capability and allow them to operate like gateways without requiring users to code the protocol themselves. The AnyGate approach lets developers choose a PC based on their own cost and performance needs and concentrate on the application that will work with the EAP. For developers who already understand programming and SECS/GEM, Adirtek Co., Ltd. also supplies the SECS/GEM driver as a communication library that can be integrated into their own software. The company has also partnered with Kontron AIS GmbH to provide FabLink solutions for SECS/GEM, GEM300 and EDA in semiconductor and photovoltaic industries. FabLink is stated to comply with SEMI standards and can be customized with Adirtek Co., Ltd., customers and Kontron AIS GmbH to add or modify functions for specific requirements. Adirtek Co., Ltd. states a vision of smarter and friendlier manufacturing and a mission of providing add-ons for manufacturing.

Adirtek Co., Ltd. supplies SECI Box as a power-on-ready SECS/GEM Gateway implemented on a small embedded system with the SECS/GEM core, modern information-communication technology, embedded technology and an application layer. The gateway is intended to connect devices ranging from sensors and meters to larger devices and equipment without additional code development. Traditional I/O devices such as pressure gauges, flow meters, proximity switches, vacuum pumps and meters can connect directly to SECI Box and exchange information with an EAP through SECS/GEM. SECI Box includes 0-10V analog input channels and 4-20mA analog input channels for devices that output those signal ranges. It also includes optically isolated digital input channels, a COM port and a LAN port, so analog, digital and serial or network-connected devices can be incorporated into the gateway. SECI-200 is the listed model for a no-code SECS/GEM gateway serving general sensors, digital switches, meters and serial devices. SECI-100 is also listed in the product lineup with a status of coming soon. For software integration, Adirtek Co., Ltd. sells ITRI QuickSECS and QuickGEM libraries. QuickSECS is a software-driver library for SECS-I, HSMS and SECS-II. QuickGEM is a software-driver library covering GEM, SECS-I, HSMS and SECS-II. The company describes its team as primarily research-and-development and technical personnel familiar with semiconductor-equipment control software and factory-automation system integration. Technical support accompanies the driver-library products so users can work with the products while reducing unnecessary trial-and-error time during product development. At the software-suite level, AnyGate provides a way to add SECS/GEM functions to selected PCs and use those computers as gateways for applications that need to communicate with an EAP. At the library level, the standalone SECS/GEM driver gives programmers a protocol communication component for their own software instead of requiring them to rebuild the communication layer. For broader factory connectivity, the FabLink cooperation extends the portfolio to SEMI-compliant SECS/GEM, GEM300 and EDA functions that can be customized for semiconductor and photovoltaic requirements.
